Shiplake College has always had a strong rowing community and has produced no less than four Olympic medal winners in rowing in recent years. For decades the College had operated rowing out of tired timber boat sheds – this will change with the newly handed over facilities. Apart from rowing boat storage, the new building includes a state of the art multi-purpose fitness and conditioning area, bar and changing rooms. The first floor also has a rifle and archery shooting range, an indoor climbing wall and equipment storage for outdoor pursuits for the popular Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
