BEAUREPAIRE HOUSE

We extended this moated manor house with a courtyard that included a conservatory, playroom, shooting room and a gazebo. The new rooms open on to a sheltered courtyard. This in turn gives access to the gardens through an archway at the end of the conservatory. Corbelled oriel windows with window seats were created in the gazebo and these give views along the moat.

Outside the moat we added a riding ring and staff cottages. Access to the riding ring is through a new symmetrical facade with a real cottage to the left and a fake one on the right.

The contractor R W Armstrong achieved a very high standard of craftsmanship throughout with fine brickwork and oak joinery.

We also assisted the estate with a number of feasibility studies, and an extension to the game keeper’s cottage.
