THE WINERY AT HUNDRED HILLS

The winery was the first phase of a group of buildings designed
to serve the winemaking and marketing operations of the Hundred Hills vineyard. Following completion of the winery, a storage barn with a capacity of half a million bottles has been built, and a listed farmhouse and granary have been refurbished. In due course a house for the owner and a hospitality barn will be added. The winery was awarded the Chilterns Society Building of the Year.

The building makes use of the forms and materials found in typical Chiltern barns, and the entrance is covered by a generous sunny loggia. Inside there is a state-of-the-art wine making facility. Visitors are able to tour the production area with its four tonne presses and 6 m high fermentation tanks. They are able to sample the wines in the tasting lounge and visit the cellars below. A kitchen and bar on the first floor are used for hospitality and cater for the tasting events. The first floor rooms have wonderful views over the beautiful vineyard and surrounding countryside.
